Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a former world number one, has had a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since spring of 2023.

Success also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

His counter-punching strategy and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet rescued four early break points in a close final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
