Why this Democratic Party is Hiding their 2024 Election Autopsy: An Analysis.

This action from the Democratic National Committee to block the public viewing of its own autopsy report concerning the 2024 election is shocking but entirely predictable. Averse to hard truths, the Democrats' governing body operates closer to a publicity machine rather than an electoral entity devoted to building grassroots capacities to secure victories.

An Environment of Conformity

Hesitant to break with the prevailing attitude demanding unity, the committee has remained within that legacy all through this past year. Making public the findings could have demonstrated whether the leadership actually want to foster honest conversation regarding the strategic failures that paved the way for the former president to win re-election. Yet, the committee is acting under the pretense that there are no lessons to understand following the tragic debacle of 2024.

Our guiding principle: will this lead to victory? If the answer is no, it becomes a sideline issue from what truly matters," a rationale which was presented for withholding the document.

Key Issues an Autopsy Would Have Addressed

A genuine analysis of substance would confront a series of difficult topics. Among them are:

  • Electoral Disenchantment: Failing to retain of millions of voters that backed the Democratic ticket in 2020 became a critical factor in the close 2024 election.
  • The Decision to Run: The stubborn decision of a party leader to run again, and an extremely delayed exit, has been criticized as denying the party's base the chance for a genuine choice.
  • Abandoning the Working-Class Base: Amid inflation, the campaign reportedly ceding to elite contributors without successfully attempting to challenge the impact of profit-seeking.
  • The Gaza Effect: An unwillingness to shift a policy position concerning the situation in Gaza is cited as driving away many voters, particularly with youth voters, Arab-Americans, Muslim voters.
  • Losing Young Voter Backing: Research indicates a huge decline in Democratic support among voters aged 18-29.

A Pattern of Evasion

This refusal fits a pattern of sidestepping hard truths. It recalls a dynamic in which the vast majority of elected Democrat in Congress acquiesced to a sitting president's decision for running for re-election until a poor public debate performance led to a reversal.

Meanwhile, a significant majority of the electorate had been continually telling researchers that they opposed the incumbent to run again.

Financial Concerns

A thorough analysis might also probe matters about financial allocations, including the amounts were directed to high-priced advisors and advertising contractors over the course of an electoral effort which expended a colossal sum in a short period.

A Larger Issue

At its core, the suppression surrounding this report is symptomatic of an allegiance to party leaders that oversaw a disastrous national race. The message for ordinary supporters – including countless loyal volunteers – is that they cannot have a right to understand what the leadership have learned based on an analysis compiled from extensive interviews.

An organization unable to critically review where it went wrong will struggle to break free from the pattern which was so helpful to the rival party.
